In Sony's most recent financial statements, it explained that games that are available for PS4 will cease to exist by 2025 D2R Items. This doesn't mean that legacy PS4 games won't be purchasable, but Sony plans to be done with releasing new games on the platform within the next few years.

In the meantime, in 2025, Sony has forecast that the majority of the revenue generated by games will be out of PlayStation 5, with titles for PC as well as mobiles also bringing up the other half of its earnings.

As a whole, this probably shouldn't be too surprising considering that the PS5 is expected to be Sony's primary future focus for years to future. Still, it's worth stressing that right now, the PS4 is a console that Sony is manufacturing and releasing games on. In fact, this year's largest PlayStation game God of War Ragnarok is set to release on PS4 whenever it does arrive.

At some point in the coming years, Sony will likely end by making a larger announcement regarding the PS4 and the finalization of its lifetime. As we've learned however, this announcement will be in place by the time 2025 is around the corner, so be sure to prepare for this event.
